Ok, looks like Part 3 of our ongoing installment which i should now call “Google does not know how to rank web pages” because it seems they can’t.
In part one Penalized by Google i showed stats and information about MortgagesDebt.com not even ranking in the Top 100 pages for our own name “MortgagesDebt” after what appeared some sort of glitch/penalty/ban/bug or whatever from Google. Also all our traffic completely plunged to nothing besides regular readers coming from bookmarks plus Yahoo & MSN, all terms we ranked for in Google were gone.
Then in part two Back After Google Penalization i showed how we returned to normal, well almost normal we still only ranked #3 for our own name “MortgagesDebt” but everything else was pretty much normal.
Now today in part three, gone yet again for our own freakin name!
Lets take a look at what Google deems more relevant for our own .com name “MortgagesDebt”
This site:
Sponsored Links and Affiliate links, and their “Mortgage” site with myPIX.com vouchers (wow useful)
What else in on the page i wonder?
Excellent stuff, 13 more affiliate links for Gardening, Sports & Beauty magazine subscriptions. Would you like a manicure or maybe a haircut while you wait for your Adjustable Rate Mortgage sir?
What could cause site to rank 100 spots higher than MortgagesDebt.com for the term MortgagesDebt?
Maybe it’s hugely popular, and every site on the internet links to it for it’s great mortgage content affiliate links? Using Yahoo you can see all the sites and pages linking to this great site:
Nope, the first link in the picture is a parked page full of ads and doesn’t link to it anymore, the second is some site that just scrapes search results pages with 100’s of links on the page and the third is some store with things like Coconut Oil and Ceramic Nest Eggs also with a bunch of random links.
Conclusion, Google is THE WORST search engine out of the lot this is how an accurate and valuable search engine looks: http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=mortgagesdebt
I’m not the only one experiencing this, a number of other bloggers and website owners don’t even rank for their own names on Google. One of the major main stream tech/news blogs is very interested in publishing our stories and details so stay tuned.
For now, i can only urge you this holiday season DO NOT use Google for your shopping they are likely to send you to non-official sites that charge more or sites that may not even deliver your goods aka scam websites full of affiliate links.
- Penalized by Google
- Yes, it appears MortgagesDebt.com has been penalized by Google After doing everything Google suggests, such as building an accessible design and ensuring coding is clean and optimized, giving all pages unique Titles & Descriptions, having clean and relevant URL’s, grinding our fingers to the bone writing unique content, not linking out to bad neighborhoods etc etc
- Dear Google
- Thanks for completely slapping me in the face after i wasted dozens of hours reading your guidelines and following them to the letter as best i could with my first blog. I was proud of it, i spent 100’s of hours writing content for users like you said, i used to look forward to waking
- Back After Google Penalization
- Just a quick update on my post the other day Penalized By Google where i outlined how Google for whatever reason decided to kill the site and not even rank it in the top 100 sites for it’s own brand name “MortgagesDebt”. How or why Google decided MortgagesDebt.com was not at all relevant for “MortgagesDebt” is
